Strawfish Straws: A Marine-Friendly Alternative

Plastic straws significantly pollute our oceans. To combat this issue, we’ve chosen Strawfish straws at Paloma. These straws, made from natural, marine-friendly materials, decompose quickly and safely, reducing our plastic footprint and protecting Barbados marine life.

Plastic pollution in the oceans poses a severe environmental threat. According to the Ocean Conservancy, plastic straws are among the top 10 items collected during beach cleanups worldwide. These small items can cause significant harm to marine life, from ingestion to entanglement. By switching to Strawfish straws, Paloma proactively reduces this impact.

Strawfish straws use materials like wheat and rice that decompose naturally without leaving harmful residues. Unlike plastic straws, which can take hundreds of years to break down, Strawfish straws decompose within a few months, making them a much more sustainable option. Additionally, their production has a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional plastic straws.

TOSSWARE Compostable Cups: Drink Responsibly

Partnering with TOSSWARE, we’ve introduced compostable cups as another step towards sustainability. Made from plant-based materials, these cups fully compost, ensuring they break down naturally without harming the environment. These cups blend convenience and eco-friendliness, allowing you to enjoy your favorite drinks without guilt.

Compostable cups offer an excellent alternative to traditional plastic cups, significantly contributing to hospitality industry waste. Millions of plastic cups end up in landfills every year, taking centuries to decompose. Compostable cups, on the other hand, break down into natural elements that can enrich the soil, reducing waste and contributing to a circular economy.

TOSSWARE’s cups use PLA (polylactic acid), a material derived from renewable resources like cornstarch and sugarcane. When disposed of in a composting facility, PLA cups decompose into water, carbon dioxide, and organic materials, leaving no toxic residues behind.
